Hat Rental Terms & Conditions

These Hat Rental Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your rental of hats from Cover & Brim (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By renting a hat, you (“Renter”, “you”, “your”) agree to be bound by the terms below.
1. Eligibility
To rent a hat from Cover & Brim, you must be 18 years or older and able to enter into a legally binding agreement.
2. Rental Period
The rental period begins on the agreed start date and ends on the specified return date. Hats must be returned on or before the end of the rental period unless prior arrangements are made.
3. Rental Fees
Rental fees are due in full before you take possession of the hat. Fees are based on the duration of the rental and are agreed upon at the time of booking.
A security deposit equal to the value of the hat is also required at pickup. This deposit protects against loss, damage, or extended rental. The total rental cost will never exceed the value of the hat.
4. Pickup & Return
All rentals must be picked up and returned in person at our showroom.
Pickup and return locations will be specified when your reservation is confirmed.
Hats must be returned on time and in the same condition as when rented (normal wear and tear excepted). Late returns may result in additional fees.
5. Security Deposit & Late Fees
Your security deposit will be refunded after the hat is returned in good condition and within the agreed rental period.
If a hat is not returned by the end of the rental period, a late fee will be charged for each additional day.
If the hat is not returned within 18 days of the end of the rental period, the security deposit may be forfeited and the hat will be considered lost.
6. Condition of Hat
When you receive the hat, you acknowledge it is in good, rental condition.
Normal wear and tear (such as light scuffs or minor marks that do not affect function) are expected. Damage beyond normal wear (e.g., tears, water damage, missing decorations, structural damage, excessive dirt) is not considered normal and may result in repair or replacement fees.
Hats should be returned clean and free of stains or excessive dirt.
7. Lost or Damaged Hats
If a hat is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear during your rental period, you agree to pay the repair or replacement cost, up to the full retail value of the hat.
This may include:
- Replacement of design elements (feathers, leather, beads, trims)
- Structural repairs
- Full hat replacement if repair isn’t possible
8. Cleaning Fee
If a hat is returned excessively dirty or damaged beyond expected wear, a cleaning fee may be charged in addition to repair or replacement costs.
9. Use of Hat
You agree to use the rented hat responsibly and lawfully.
You may not alter, modify, or customize the hat in any way without written consent from Cover & Brim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cover & Brim and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from your use, possession, or transportation of the rented hat.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Cover & Brim operates.
12. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and Cover & Brim regarding hat rentals. Any changes must be in writing and signed by both parties.
13. Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes between you and Cover & Brim will be resolved through binding arbitration at the company’s location, and you waive the right to participate in a class action or jury trial.
